Who's Amazing?!

Who's Amazing?!

You're amazing!  She is amazing!  He is amazing! They are amazing!

I came to a realization a few years ago and would love to share it here since this seems as good a place as any.

You hear folks preach about tolerance for those that are different than us.  Tolerance for racial differences, tolerance for religious choice, tolerance for sexual and gender preference...  But I just feel that this is limiting.  I can tolerate the rain when I planned a picnic, but ultimately I am still resentful or upset by this rain once I realize my plans need changing. OR, I can VALUE the rain for the nutrients it will bring to my neighborhood.  Value is what we should aim for.  How does my Muslim neighbor bring value to my community? How does the Nigerian child in my son's class bring value to his classmates? How do my trans friends bring value to the people in their lives?  Seek value when you're considering something that is new to your world view.  Maybe you don't know of anyone in your life who is Jewish or Korean or bi-sexual and maybe you have ideas that were handed down to you from previous generations and you don't know how to go about being open minded - I think finding VALUE in these differences will truly help you and others and EVERYONE to get past some of the divides that plague us.

We are each unique and valuable to our community and our families and social circles.  My two cents.  My soap-box. I love you all and see your value!

But Stephanie...we came here to see pretty stamping projects....

I KNOW! So here goes.  I just love these inclusive sentiments and their adorable fonts are just the cherry on top of an already yummy situation! They are retro, they are fun, they are sexy!  I want all the things in this fun font!

I used the AMAZING HUMAN set to create these two cards and I swear I am going to go back and make a card in the same style for each of the sentiments in this set.  I loved the way they turned out.  Bold, colorful and impactful.

I think my favorite sentiment in this set is "You transcend labels" because I think we each break molds and labels in some way.

...Wanna know a secret?

I used an old Sephora merchandise bag for these cards!  Ha!  I always keep that stuff for future paper projects!  I think I have used Whole Foods paper bags and Victoria's Secret bags before too.  Its free paper! Use it!

Have you ever done this before?  I remember when my little babies were born and I was scrapbooking their photos I would keep all the gift tags, cards, gift pags and even wrapping paper to use in their baby books.  Saved money, was sentimental and was super cute!

Layering Like a Boss

I got a little carried away with layering on these two cards but I kind of super love it! So I will forgive myself this time.

I just kept going with colors and sizes until I got the effect I wanted.  I used a lot of washi tape which is always fun to do.  I got some washi tape from Ink Road Stamps, its called Washi - Gilbert Baker Pride Flag.  Click the link for that cuteness!

I used my giant stash of washi on the second card but I think they are both so fun!

Do you have a washi tape collection? I have been collecting washi tape since about 2010 (before it was cool!) and by now I have hundreds of them.

What I learned:

A. Keep all the paper bags for free craft supplies later (I didn't learn this, I knew this, but YOU LEARNED IT so it counts)

B. Value your neighbors for their differences.  Value those you don't understand.  Dare I say - Value those you don't even like!  Find value in everyone and it will make you happier and it will make your community stronger.

C. Washi tape is life giving.

Alright sexy friends - it is time to move on and eat popcorn and watch Netflix and keep making more cute paper projects!

xoxo,

Steph
