"We not only dream, we do."

Hello Roadies! I am so proud to be able to share the following cards with you today. Kamala Harris made history as the first woman and person of color to be elected vice president in the United States. It was a huge step forward toward equality in our country. We have a long way to go, but it's amazing to see the world change in real time.

I created these cards using the Madam Vice President set. When I saw the iconic sneaker stamp, I knew I had to use it for a background.

I stamped it repeatedly on watercolor paper with Versamark ink, then used black embossing powder and heat set. I wanted the background to have a messy watercolor appearance, so I loosely painted the sneakers black, then painted a purple background around them. 

Once dry, I added another layer of purple to the background for more depth. I mounted the backgrounds on purple glitter cardstock and use foam tape to pop this panel up on a black card base. To finish, I used foam tape to adhere a different quote from Madam Vice President Harris to the front of each.

The background is bright and vibrant, but I feel like the quotes command attention. My goal with the colors and sneakers was to leave no doubt as to who I had in mind when I created these, and I feel like I accomplished that.
