The Luckiest!

The Luckiest!

Hello Roadies! This week I had the chance to play with Lucky, an A2 sized set featuring a sentiment in a gorgeous, full size scripty front and border stamps. For this card, I focused on the sentiment.

I wanted to keep the background simple, so I used black pigment ink and clear, glittery embossing powder to stamp and heat set my sentiment on watercolor paper. Then I picked out three oxide ink colors that would blend to make a background reminiscent of tie dye: Salvaged Patina, Seedless Preserves, and Spiced Marmalade.

I applied my inks to my multimedia mat, spritzed with water, then smooshed my watercolor panel against them. I heat set between layers and cleaned any muddy mixes off my mat with a paper towel. I ink smooshed two layers with the same ink before cleaning my mat and using fresh ink for my last layer so I wouldn't lose any vibrancy to mixed colors.

This was a fun card to make and I love all of the color variations in the background! It makes me think of tie dyeing t-shirts with good friends. For my final touches, I added clear Nuvo drops here and there. Once dry, I mounted my panel to a white card base. This card is so colorful but when the glittery embossing and shiny drops catch the light, it takes it to a whole new level!

You can find this set at Ink Road Stamps (nab the Salvaged Patina ink while you're there!). Use the code BriannaJ10 during checkout to save 10% on your order!
