Sweet Ass Fancy Sentiments

Sweet Ass Fancy Sentiments

Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to another day in the crafting world. This month, I'm giving myself a little challenge by creating two cards for each set! Phew! They're mostly going to be CAS because that's just how I"m feeling these days. Let's do our usual: Throwdown, then a breakdown.
Here's the finished projects for this week! The focus of the project is the Fancy Font Sentiments Set.
As you can see, for the fruit card, I channelled my inner Señor Gleason with the layers. Lol only, not quite as fancy.... I kinda lost steam after two matted layers.🤣🤪
Both cards are standard US A2 size (5.5" x 4.25")
Let's start with the baby card!
I began with an A2 sized panel, and taped off a portion of the card for the sentiment -- I should have measured it, but I'm glad it came out okay in the end! After taping off the sentiment area, I heat embossed the baby from the Spork stamp set. I know a few people entering motherhood for the first time, and some for the 3+ time... Figured, it would be a good idea to stock up on cards. ;)
I stamped the baby pretty randomly. I used Versamark clear ink, and heat embossed with a gold embossing powder I had on hand. Honestly, I use an embossing powder from Michael's. It's lasted me so long, and still has a beautiful look to it.
I added some 1/4" strips to frame the sentiment space. The paper is a lime green from my stash. Again, I should have measured, but it came out ok.
Then! On to the sentiment itself. I used the "Congrats" sentiment from the Fancy Fonts Sentiments set. I just stamped it in plain black. I used my Misti because my black ink is getting pretty ratchet and I just haven't ... given myself the 5 seconds it takes to re-ink it. There's no logic there... It's just a fact. Lol we've all been there.
Then, I shaved off about 1/8th of an inch off each side (just to keep things consistent).
TA DA! Finished! I matted the card onto an A2 sized lime green panel to give it a finishing touch. Pretty simple! If you wanted to cover up the jacked up baby, what you could do is stamp out a couple of extra babies, fussy cut them, and layer them on top, even with foam tape or a wobble mechanism. That would be extra fun... I left it because motherhood is jacked up. ;)
For the paper hugs paper, I just stamped an A2 panel with various fruits from the "This Stamp is Bananas" (discontinued...for now?) set. Then used a small stitched rectangle die to cut it down. I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment on vellum, and glued it down, adding gems as a little bonus.
Voila, y'all! How do you like them apples?
