Single & Savage Free Edge Card

For today's card I used a sentiment from Single & Savage to inspire a craft themed card. I combined the sentiment with elements from Holly Pixels Art Supplies and Basics: Collage Elements to create a free edge card design. 

For the background I ink blended light grey ink through a heart stencil, then made an impression in my die cut machine with an embossing mat for slight dimension. 

For the black and white striped paper on the right side, I used the hexagon from Basics: Collage Elements and only stamped the top of the shape. I loved the texture of the sketchy outline, and wanted to use it in a stripe pattern.

I made a standard a2 side fold card base, then cut one inch off of the card front. I adhered the striped paper to the inside of the card, so it will be seen when the card is closed.

Now that the base is done, we can start on the focal elements to create the free edge. I stamped images from Holly Pixels Art Supplies onto bristol smooth cardstock using versafine onyx black ink.

I colored the images in rainbow order using Arteza real brush pens, then fussy cut each out.

To add silver to the caps and shimmer to the bottles I used Gansai Tambi metallic watercolor.

I glued all of the art supplies together, adding foam tape to one side. The foam tape will go on the card base. I colored the other side with a black marker, to cover up the messy back. This will show when the card is opened. 

I attached the art supplies to the edge of the card front. The sentiment that inspired the whole card is from Single & Savage. I white heat embossed onto black cardstock, then cut it into a banner. 

As a finishing touch I added tons of clear sequins, some tucked in between elements and some on the right side so they will be seen when the card is open.

We can't forget about the inside! I used the same light grey ink to stamp the art supplies, then added a secondary sentiment also from Holly Pixels Art Supplies. You can also see how the free edge looks from the inside.
