Paper Hugs Book Card
by Lorena CurnutteHello Roadies! I have some paper hugs on the blog today! I made this cute book card using the new Fancy Font Sentiments stamp set. This set is definitely a must have for your collection. It's packed with great basic sentiments in a super pretty font! Let's jump into my card project for today!
I started by cutting down some papers from an old book my dog chewed up. (She knew it would come in handy for my crafting.) I trimmed it down but still left a bit of a border around the text.
I added some ink blending to the edges of the page to give it more of a vintage look. I went over all the edges lightly, blending from the edges towards the center.
Next I crumpled up the page, opened it back up, and crumpled it again. Then I went over the crease marks the crumpling made with a little more ink blending. I used tape runner to adhere it to a green piece of cardstock for a thin border around the page.
I prepped a piece of the same green cardstock using anti-static powder to do some heat embossing. I stamped the paper hugs sentiment from the Fancy Font Sentiments using clear embossing ink. I sprinkled on white embossing powder, tapped off excess, and heat set.
Next I die cut some of the gorgeous florals from the Bella Flora die set using black and green card stock. I ran it through my die cutting machine twice since these dies are so detailed, I wanted to make sure I got a clean cut.
I cut down some polka dot patterned paper to 4.25" x 5.5" and adhered it onto a white A2 sized card base. Next I adhered my ink blended book page at an angle and trimmed off any over hang.
I adhered the Bella Flora die cuts flat onto my card towards the right side and again cut off the overhang. I also adhered the heat embossed sentiment flat onto my card. I had some but envelopes from a pervious project and I thought they'd be the perfect embellishment. I adhered one flat and popped one up over my sentiment. The envelopes are from the Modern Romance set.
To finish off my design I added some sparkle to the envelopes using a clear shimmer pen and a few clear sequins sprinkled throughout. I hope I've inspired you to recycle some old books into fun cards! If you'd like you pick up any of the sets listed you can use Lorena10 for a discount on your goodies! See ya next time! xo-Lorena
