Lucky Mixed Media Card
Share
I have been in a Mixed Media mood lately, so I created this acetate front trifold card to show off a fun background. I used Lucky and BASICS: Collage Elements Vol 1 stamp sets.
I started with a piece of 8.5” x 5.5” piece of card stock, and ink smooshed with Distress Oxide inks to create a background.
I chopped up the background into small squares, using scissors so they wouldn’t be even. I’m looking for some different sizes and shapes here.
I glued all of the squares onto an A2 card front, overlapping the edges to cover the background completely.
I used the darker ink from the background and smooshed it onto my glass mat with a spritz of water to create a watercolor. I painted around each of the shape and let the color soak into the edges of each square.
I stamped on the background using both inks to create even more texture. The stamps are from BASICS: Collage Elements Vol 1. I used the darker ink to stamp around the edges to create a border.
I used StazOn permanent ink to stamp Lucky onto acetate.
I scored the acetate, then used strong double sided tape to adhere it to the card base. I placed a piece of washi over the adhesive to cover the ugly seam.
The finished card base has an acetate front that opens to the left, then a mixed media background that opens to the right.
I added an assortment of gold sequins and gems around the sentiment to finish off this card.
Here is how it opens, I am in love with this background!
