Let's Like Totally Go back To The 80's Man!
by Leah MonroeHey Roadies! I was feeling all 80's and cranked my music up nice and loud. I went to work on this easy card, that has a huge punch of color! I love it! (okay, so, I hated it for awhile, and then I learned to love it!)
I fell in love with the Roadies sentiment sets, and Roadies 10 does not disappoint. It's got snark on top of snark! After making this small black embossed sentiment strip, I used the Basic Collage Elements Vol 1 to liven up that white paper. That's how this whole card started. I wanted bright and funky!
After the sentiment was done, (easy peasy, right?) I took the Basic Collage Elements Vol 1 stamp set and my NEON stamp pads from Hero Arts to create the background. I love the colors of these inks, buuuuut they stained my pretty stamps! After a lot of washing, scrubbing and hoping it'd come clear. I gave up. I had to tell myself that makers gonna make, and messes are part of the process. It shows you use, and love your stamps if they are a little, or even a lot stained. They ink the same, and don't show any stained ink, if you're wondering :)
I chose some to do random areas of the stamps, no real style intended. That freaks me out! I love knowing how I am going to set out to do a card, and make sure I have everything for it beforehand. Stamping out backgrounds is nerve-wracking! I chose bright neon green 65lb cardstock for the matting, and 65lb neon pink paper for the card base. I was then excited because I finally got to use these bright neon gems I got from Michael's on sale sometime this year. They were perfect! BUT WAIT! I wasn't done.. I added some sparkly purply zebra print washi too!
I had to tell myself to stop! Thank goodness it's MY card, and only I have to like it. So practice, and practice, screw up, and try again friends!
