INKED: Kelly Easel Card
by Becca NeeleyAs soon as I saw INKED: Kelly I knew I wanted to turn her into an easel card! I wanted to give the effect that the balloons were pulling her up off of the card. Kelly is my mom's name so I was extra excited about this stamp set.
I stamped INKED: Kelly onto bristol smooth paper using Versafine onyx black ink and clear heat embossed on top. I picked out some colorful patterned papers.
I picked Arteza real brush pens to coordinate with the patterned paper. I find it much easier to choose my paper first and then match my markers. When I color first I can never find patterned paper that looks cohesive.
I colored her with Arteza real brush pens and blended the color out with water. For her dress I added liquid shimmer for some extra birthday sparkle!
To make the card base into an easel I scored at 2.5" from the bottom of a standard top folding A2 card base.
I added patterned paper above and below the score line, then a strip in the center to cover the fold. This strip is only adhered to the bottom patterned paper so it still folds. I stamped and white heat embossed a birthday sentiment from Basics: Sentiment Strips.
I glued Kelly to the front of the card, only putting glue beneath the crease to make sure the card stands properly.
For the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment from INKED: Kelly onto leftover patterned paper. I added a few layers of borders so it would have some dimension. This will hold up the card when it is in easel postion.
I added a few confetti sequins and the card is done!
