No Justice, No Peace.

No Justice, No Peace.

When I got the Black Lives Matter stamp set, I thought I knew what I wanted to make right away. Then as days passed, I couldn't think of a single thing. There is a quote by Angela Davis, and I will admit, I did not know who she was. If you also do not know who she is, google her, and read all her stories. In 2020, she was made the woman of the year for 1971 and Times most 100 influential people. When reading, there was this one poster that would come up from 1971 that stuck with me, and I wanted to try to create what I saw in my head.

I took Onyx Black Versafine ink and stamped No Justice No Peace onto my patterned paper. I tried to find something that would bring some 1971 vibes. Trying to cut a purfect circle with shoulders is harder than it looks, or maybe it just was for me! So I did this a few times before I liked it. I took some Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo distress inks to my paper and blended until I came to a nice color that I wanted. I then took a floral stencil and lightly shaded on some Black Soot Distress ink.

I felt like she was missing something and I added some large gold hoops like the ones she wore in the 70's.  I cut out the circles on gold foil paper with a circle die, and then punched out a hole to make it look more like an earring. I must have kept them not glued down for an hour deciding how I wanted them. yay, nay, Yay nay. Don't fight with yourself! just do it. I love my WOW gold embossing powder for fine detail and a good 110lb black cardstock together. It's my go to!

I really hope that you guys like this card as much as I do!
