Get Your Shoes On; Let's Get Shit Done

Back at it! Throwin' down this time with some serious motivation and determination.

Today, I'm featuring the Madam Vice President stamp set for a message of power, determination, and getting shit done. ;) 

 

As always, here's the finished product first to get a feel for what's going down.

I initially started this card with an idea of what elements I wanted to use, and what message I wanted to convey:

So here's my pre-planning. I didn't originally intend to use any of these images from this particular sheet. I had intended to just collect my thoughts and then stamp separate images...but when I was piecing everything together, I just figured I'd make my life easier and use what I already had.

For this card, I added images from: Resist, and Mug Life.

 

Next, I whipped out my embossing folders and decided to add some textures to the top 1/3 of the panel, and then stamped the bottom with the shoe from Madam VP. For the ink, I just used copic friendly ink. It's pretty much a staple in my craft room. I rarely use anything else, even when I watercolor. 

Next, this is where I cut out the "pre-plan" images and tried to fit everything in. I almost threw out the cup of get shit done. I was SO heartbroken to even think about it, so I made it work. 😏 heh. 

So, I proceeded to color in everything, shoes, cup, and all.

I added a strip of patterned paper from my stash, and matted it with some grey from an old envelope.

After coloring in all my images, I had a last minute "oh shit" moment where I remembered I wanted to mat this panel, so I trimmed off 1/8" all around. (Feat. the left over strips. Moment of silence for that crafty loss)....

I fussy cut every image as best I could, then adhered everything down. The banner was adhered on foam tape, but everything else was done flat.

Add some gems -- 'cause I'm trying to get rid of them-- and voila! Finished product.
