Fuckunicorn and and Engagement! By Brianna F

The past year and a half has presented many challenges for many people, I was no exception.  I want to express my excitement for Ink Road Stamps to have allowed me a hiatus to take care of some much needed mental health.  There are many more things I could say about all of this, however I won't bore you with the details.  Let's talk handmade cards!  Even better, let's talk Ink Road Stamps!

One of the most exciting things of 2021 happened!  My best friend got engaged!! I have a feeling I will be making various invitations for practice for her wedding and the celebrations involved for the foreseeable future.   I decided to give it a go at a bachelorette party invitation. I am not fully committed to using this as her invitation (she has not even picked a date yet) but I have a feeling it is a strong contender!

Using a black cardstock I cut the dimensions of 4.5”X5.5”.  I chose HEAVILY gold glittered designer cardstock and cut it in the dimensions of 10cmX13.5cm (basically just a hair under the original dimensions in order to give a very small margin on the outside of the gold glitter).

Using my laser printer I chose the sentiment of “Ooh la la! Join us for a bachelorette party in honor of Rachel Moseley” and printed on lightweight white cardstock.  I used two different fonts for aesthetic appeal and centered it in three different rows. Once printed I used an oval stencil (4”x3”) and traced the oval around my printed sentiment and then fussy cut the oval.  Using double sided foam adhesive I popped the oval up on top of the gold glitter cardstock. This is not the traditional scored and open card. This is intended to be flipped over to reveal the important details of the bachelorette party.  Again, I printed the pertinent information on lightweight white cardstock to be filled in later once the details have been decided.

To finalize the entire look of the invitation I used vellum to create a jacket.  The dimensions are 8 ¼”x 5.5”, scored at 2” and 6 ¼”. Using my bone folder I reinforced my score lines and made holes using my mini hole punch at 2 ¾” from the top and 2 ¾” from the bottom on each side of the jacket.  Using the same black cardstock as the background I prepped it with my anti-static bag and using Versamark ink I stamped ‘Fuckery Is Afoot’ from the stamp set Fuckunicorn, then coated it with white embossing powder and set it using my heat gun.  I chose to adhere the word ‘Fuckery’ above the hole punch on the left side using liquid adhesive. Then adhering the 'Is Afoot’ below the hole punch on the right side using liquid adhesive.

For the finishing touch I chose a thin bright pink ribbon to tie the vellum jacket together around the invitation.

This next year is squaring up to be a great one!!  Thanks so much for taking the time to read! Have a great day!
