Coming In Live, From Snack Time.
by Carol StubbsHey, hey, heyyy Another crafty day! Coming at ya with TWO fresh to death (points if you get the reference) CAS projects. Hot off the press! Today, I'm bringing it with the set called Live From Snack Time. Honestly, as a mom, kids say some weird shit, but it's HILARIOUS because they're SO tiny! The amount of times I ask myself, "Where the hell do you come up with that??" in a day is off the charts. So this set, just hits for me. Here's the finished products:
I made these cards pretty similarly. Like I said, I've been in a very CAS mood and it's manifested in these cards you'll see this month!
I'll walk through the sunset card because I genuinely feel like the other one is pretty straightforward.
start with an A2, colored panel. I chose paper bag, and stamped it with a wavy background stamp using distress Oxide. I specifically chose this ink because it is very opaque. It shows up nearly everywhere.
While the background dries, get to stamping the sentiment. At this point, I already used a stitched rectangle die to cut down my panel. I inked the sentiment from the Live from Snacktime Set, using plain black ink. Nothing fancy. I used my Misti because (IYKYK), I've been lazy on re-inking my black ink.
Step three includes a gradient sunset. This part is my favorite. With my panel still in my stamp positioner, I placed the sunset where I wanted it, and picked it up with the door. Then added two different inks, each to half of the stamp. The lighter ink on top, and the darker ink on the bottom. In retrospect, I should have used an even brighter ink for the yellow, but I still dig the look. I stamped it twice for a more blended and saturated look.
Here's what it looks like when stamping. I inked it with both inks at the same time. Cross contamination doesn't bother me. You can always just stamp each part once at a time... if you have the time. LOL
TA DA! Cute, right?
Similar concept. I used yellow construction paper, and heat embossed it with the Banana Leaf background (discontinued...for now?). I was so excited for that card because I was able to use my favorite coloring medium: colored pencils! I bought a new set (because kids) and they're MINE. they're cheap (because, kids) but they're totally worth it. So I colored up the image from Life from Snack Time. Then mounted the white panel using foam tape -- it holds better on embossing.
