Bella Flora Scrapbook Layout
by Celia MorseWhat's up Roadies!?
Celia from Paper Beats Rock Designs here to show you guys how I put together this pretty yet simple scrapbook layout using the Bella Flora stamp set from Ink Road.
First, I grabbed a black piece of 12x12 cardstock and a striped piece that I cut down to 5x12, then glued to the black paper. The white in the striped piece was more of a cream, so I found a "French Vanilla" acrylic paint in my stash and dry brushed it vertically in a rough rhombus shape.
While waiting for that to dry completely, I stamped out all four flourishes onto 2 hues of pink, a purple, and teal cardstocks and fussy cut them out. Now, all my black inks are dying, so I didn't get the best impression on all of the flowers, but I plan on layering them up, so it won't matter much.
I mounted my photo on the teal and a pink cardstock before mounting it on black. I love the crisp edge the black cardstock gives the photo.. I think it stands out nicely against the vanilla paint, of which I decided to add some splatters.
Afterward, I tucked some of my flourishes around my photo making sure none of the same colors or images were right nest to each other or sitting the tame way. I wanted them and the photo to look like they were cascading down the page.
I felt like the layout needed another... something, but I didn't want to add vellum as the background was cream based and my vellum is quite white. I decided to go with diecut open leaves.
I tucked a few sprigs around the page and look bed the way that looked.
Then I went to work on my title. I heat embossed the scripty "hello" from the stamp set on some of the teal paper I gold and cut it out. I then pulled the"lovely" ribbon sticker from a MH Carousel sticker sheet which matched so nicely. After that, I grabbed a set of gold glitter Thickers and spelled out the word "Surprise" after doing some letter surgery.
I felt like the title was floating out there a bit, so I grabbed a purple floral and cut a flower off of it. I stuck ½ the flourish down behind the flower and the other of the right side of the title. I still felt like that wasn't enough, so I grabbed a couple of leftover leaf sprigs and tucked them in with the flower.
To finish off the page, I grabbed Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold and more (watered down French vanilla paint) and made splatters. Lastly I went thru my enamel dots and rhinestones and sprinkles 3 clusters of 3 around the page.
I love how bold yet feminine this page came out, and the size of the flourishes made it fast and easy to put together.
