Be Like a Star

Be Like a Star

Irony:

Its my favorite! How about you!?  I just love it so much, especially in card making and giving.  I feel like if you can make a card ironic then it instantly becomes better.  And Ink Road literally makes this so much easier for my life!  The specialize in ironic material and this brings smiles to lives and there is only good to come from that!  Ok, rant over...  Card making, that is why I am here:

Be Like a Star; Distant and Dying

As I have stated before, I am no good at planning out a layout before getting to work.  So for this project I started by considering which sentiment I wanted to use from the What Doesn't Kill You stamp set which was hard because, obviously.

I chose Be Like a Star because it was funny and I pictured in my mind a cute glittery galactic card with this sentiment and it gave me ironic goosebumps! Imagine giving this card to an ex or a boss for your two weeks notice?!  So perfect!

Steps - Kinda; 'cause I don't keep track...

I was grabbing paper for this project and my eye was leaning toward blues and purple which was perfect for a little starry-scape scene! Then I remembered that i had some super dope washi tape that would be perfect! I stamped the sentiment onto my paper with a "no line" ink so I could get a nice light transfer and then traced over her with my trusty Gelly Roll pens for added effect and matching aesthetic.  I adorned her with little stars and dots of paint and even some confetti I had laying around and then layered her up with washi tape, paper and more embossing!

Isn't She Lovely!?

Things I learned:

1. My heat gun will loosen the edges of my washi tape goodness and irritate the perfectionist in me.

2. I need to buy bigger cards because these little ones I bought are not enough space for all the amazing creativity I am pouring forth these days!

3. Always keep confetti - it will come in handy!

Alrighty...

I love you!  Drop me a comment or a social media stalk to say hello and let me know how you liked her!

Make something pretty today!

HUGS!!!
