Bam! Pow! Rainbow Builder Action!

It's me again, Roadies! I am really excited about this week's card. I love rainbows and Rainbow Builders Vol 2 was a MUST HAVE for my collection. I love the variety in this set and that it can be mixed & matched with the first Rainbow Builder. 

The cute, action-packed cloud caught my attention first. I was watching superhero movies while crafting, and thought oh--this would go great with the sentiment from Mondays. I grabbed some bright purple cardstock and used the cloud to make a background with versamark and glittery gold embossing powder. Once heat set, I used a scalloped-edge die to cut the background panel and add extra interest.

Next I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock, heat embossed with the same glittery gold embossing powder, and used the blade of my scissors to roughen up the edges. I started to assemble my card and felt it was missing something, so I splattered gold paint on the black cardbase. That brought it all together. I used foam tape on the background panel and the sentiment, so it has some extra dimension.

At a glance the gold looks simple, but once the light catches the glitter in the embossing powder it comes to life with a BAM! Versatile sets are my favorite, and this is one of those sets that can be used for many purposes. This isn't necessarily a super hero themed card, but I love that I look at it and know exactly what I was thinking when I made it.
