Let’s hear a warm welcome to another talented member of our team, Liz!
Hi, I’m Liz.
I was born and raised in southern Louisiana, but I now live in Texas with my wonderful husband of 11 years, our two cats (Mike and Zoe), and our sweet bullmastiff, Gage.
Anything mint, coral, gray, or rose gold is my jam! I buy WAY too much of the following: art supplies, stationery, stickers, scrapbook paper, cute graphic tees, quirky coffee mugs, and anything with succulents or unicorns on it. Basically all the fun stuff!
My craft space is tiny living at it’s best. The kitchen breakfast bar is where the magic happens with two three-tiered carts housing the items that I use on a daily basis directly underneath the counter. Bigger items that are frequently used are housed in one side of our entertainment center which is just behind the carts. Our walk-in closet is home to a set of sterilite drawers and a few scrapbook-sized plastic totes that holds my rarely used items.
This may not seem like a whole lot of room to get my craft on, but it’s actually perfect for me. Prior to our move to Texas, I had a whole room to myself. But. It. Was. Never. Clean… Literally… E V E R. lol A smaller size space makes my messes manageable, so it’s actually a pretty perfect fit for me.
Writing was my original form of creative expression, and it’s how I expressed myself for most of my life. I then came to the realization that I was capable of doing more if I only tried and was committed to LOTS of practice.
Now, I’m an artist which absolutely sets my soul on fire! Most of the time you’ll find me drawing on my iPad Pro, painting with watercolors, playing in my planners, and occasionally making cards. When I need a break from any of those, you can also find me sewing or knitting!
I’m living proof that the “smart kid” can absolutely be the crafty lady, seeing as my original college major was Chemical Engineering, but I’ve switched to Graphic Design. I love how much my life has changed for the better simply because I pursued something I was passionate about, and I didn’t let my lack of knowledge stop me from achieving it. =)
My favorite quote, “Not all those who wander are lost,” by J.R.R. Tolkien is the perfect way to describe both myself and my creative process. I can’t wait to share what I’ll be creating alongside my fellow Ink Road Stamps DT members! <3
