Hey y’all! Ali here! I am beyond excited to share my very first Ink Road project with you, so let’s get right to it! The first time I saw the ‘Frond of You’ stamp set I had all the heart eyes, I knew it would be perfect for all of my beachy pics, and I was right!
For this project I really wanted to make those fronds shine, so I used them in multiple ways! I dug into the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection; that gorgeous sunset over the water was my starting point. I knew I would want to use the other side at some point so I gutted it to a 10” x 10” piece for my background. I backed that with white cardstock, but I wanted to tie in the colors and motif of my layout. So I really went crazy with the stamp, sticking to pinks and purples at the top and shades of blues at the bottom. I had no rhyme or reason with the stamping, but I made sure to use the first, second, and third generation of the stamped image to give it depth and dimension. I think this gave it a really fun messy look to the border!
After I had my background and border figured out I decided on photo placement. I wanted to bring in some white from the border, so I went straight for the embossing powder! I also knew I wanted to tie in that amazing tissue paper from my Ink Road package. To do this, I added some gold embossed fronds to my clusters as well!
As if I hadn’t gone frond crazy enough, I grabbed the 6 x 6 paper pad and pulled out the same paper I used as my background. Using some clear embossing powder I stamped out a few more fronds and fussy cut ‘til my fingers hurt! Just kidding I only did a few. I think these really add a touch of fun and dimension to the layout. I especially love how the texture from the stamp shines but the coordinating patterned paper isn’t lost!
This photo is a beach selfie of me and my bestie, so the sentiment “what a lovely face” was perfection for the bottom of this photo, because I LOVE her face!
A few of the die cuts and chipboard shells, some super fun layers, and a sprinkling of delicious sequins (spoiler alert: you get a gorgeous handful of these beauties every time you order stamps!) tied the whole project together. I also added some machine stitching for interest! I absolutely love how this layout came out, and I really feel like the beachy fronds make the whole thing amazing.
Thanks for checking out my frond frenzy, hope it inspires you to get stampin’!
