Hey Everyone! Kira here with a fun scrapbook layout featuring the Frond of You stamp set. I dressed my son specifically in this outfit so I could use this stamp set. That’s normal behavior, right?
I knew I wanted to use a few of my favorite techniques on this layout: cut files, hand stitching and of course, stamping. I chose a font that would be large and block-y enough to really show off the stamps. And created a cut file that says “San Antonio River”, which will serve as a very large title.
After I cut the title out on my Cricut, I left it on the mat so I could stamp. I chose various shades of greens and blues that coordinated with the picture of my son standing in front of the river. I used each of the leaf stamps and varied the colors and direction I stamped them in, creating a fun tropical pattern.
Once I had finished stamping, I adhered the letters on a piece of navy blue cardstock. The stitching around my title really made those leaves pop. I love hand stitching on layouts, have you tried it?? I settled on a bright blue thread that matched the blue ink I had used for a few of my leaves. The stitching adds a little dimension and texture to the layout, while drawing your eye right to those hand stamped letters.
All that was left after the stitching was embellishing. I wanted to include some of those palm leaves as pieces of ephemera around my layout, so I stamped a few of the larger leaves in various colors and fussy cut them to include in my clusters. The color palette was mostly blue and green and I scattered clusters of embellishments around my page.
You can watch my entire process here.
